Does Amex Platinum include CLEAR?

Yes — the Amex Platinum gives up to $219/year in statement credits for CLEAR Plus, which fully covers a CLEAR Plus membership.

How it works

The Platinum card reimburses up to $219 per calendar year in CLEAR Plus membership fees as a statement credit (increased from $209 on July 1, 2026).

CLEAR Plus is the airport (and stadium) identity-verification lane that lets you skip to the front of the security document-check line.

Enrollment is required, and you must charge the CLEAR Plus membership to your Platinum card to get the credit.

What it's worth

CLEAR Plus costs $219/year, so the credit fully covers it — effectively a free membership for Platinum holders who travel.

How to claim it

  1. 1Sign up for (or renew) CLEAR Plus and pay with your Amex Platinum card.
  2. 2Make sure your card is enrolled for the benefit in your Amex account.
  3. 3The statement credit posts automatically, up to $219 per calendar year.

Good to know: It only covers CLEAR Plus — not TSA PreCheck or Global Entry (the Platinum has a separate credit for those). You must pay with the Platinum card for the credit to apply.
