What does the Amex Platinum entertainment credit cover?
The Amex Platinum includes up to $25/mo (up to $300/yr) in digital entertainment credits for select streaming and news subscriptions — but you must enroll and pay with the card.
How it works
The American Express Platinum card includes a digital entertainment credit of up to $25 per month (up to $300 per year). It reimburses eligible subscriptions when you enroll and pay with the card.
Eligible services are Disney+ (including Disney+ bundles), ESPN streaming services, Hulu, The New York Times, Paramount+, Peacock, The Wall Street Journal, and YouTube (Premium, Music, and TV). You must subscribe directly with the provider — not through a third party, cable bundle, or app store — and pay with the enrolled Platinum Card.
What it's worth
Used fully, the credit is worth up to $300/year. If you already pay for one or more eligible services — say Disney+ and Paramount+ — enrolling them means the card automatically covers up to $25/mo of that spend.
How to claim it
- 1Log in to your Amex account and enroll in the digital entertainment benefit.
- 2Set your eligible subscription(s) to bill directly to your Platinum card.
- 3The statement credit posts automatically after each eligible purchase, up to the monthly cap (allow up to 8 weeks).
Good to know: The credit is monthly (up to $25) and does not roll over — unused months are lost. Purchases must be made directly with the provider (not bundled through cable, third parties, or an app store), and enrollment is required.
