Does AT&T include HBO Max (Max)?
Sometimes — Max is included on AT&T's top Unlimited Premium wireless plan, but for AT&T Fiber it's largely been discontinued unless you're on a bundled TV package.
How it works
On wireless, Max is included with AT&T's highest-tier Unlimited Premium plan. You have to activate it in your AT&T account, and you lose it if you switch to a lower plan.
On AT&T Fiber, Max is no longer a standard internet perk. It now generally only comes through bundled TV packages (certain Fiber + TV or DIRECTV bundles), often for a limited 12-month window.
What it's worth
Max (With Ads) is $9.99/mo and ad-free Standard is about $16.99/mo, so an included subscription is worth roughly $120–200/yr.
How to claim it
- 1Confirm your plan qualifies — the Unlimited Premium wireless plan, or a Fiber + TV bundle that lists Max.
- 2Sign in to your AT&T account and look for the HBO Max / Max benefit to activate.
- 3Follow the activation link to set up or sign in to your Max account with the same email.
Good to know: If you downgrade your plan, the Max benefit goes away. AT&T's streaming perks have changed repeatedly over the years — always confirm it's on your current plan before relying on it.
